Alan Ball : It is Bill, but it is a transformed Bill.
He is not a completely new person. I am sooo mad for this right now! Magneto X-Men — Starts out a good guy, gets evil, then re-joins the good guys, then turns evil again, then ends up a powerless old man. Angel Buffy — Spends centuries as an evil vampire, then gets a soul and is a thousand times more emo than Bill ever was, then loses his soul again and becomes a full-on villain, then dies and is resurrected with his soul, and becomes a good guy once again. Darth Vader Star Wars — Starts out a cute-but-annoying kid, then is the ultimate super-villain, but in the end renounces evil and dies a hero.
Ben Linus Lost — First a seemingly innocent prisoner, then a mysterious antagonist, then a good guy, then an evil guy, then a good guy, then an evil guy…. I am glad that someone can be happy about it.. I am not.. Alan could take Eric.. Aphrodite, one more thing.. Believe, me…. In the long end game Bill somehow being turned human I have had inklings of this too and having HEA with Sookie is what many of us Bill connoisseurs want to hear but AB did mention something about a huge cost.
What will that be? Rochester in Jane Eyre will be enough for Bill! Aphrodite you have given us lots of food for thought.
Nicely done. Speculation will be endless from feasible to the utterly ridiculous for the next 10 months. I was terribly upset about what they did to him at the end of the episode, but now knowing he still remains himself and still has the same memories, I hope the writers do not fuck him up even more. Like in Season 1 and 2, it was really simple and that was what made the show so thrilling. But after season three and four i feel it was losing its thrill, however i still enjoy watching it :.
Bealieve me, I know how you feel…. Bill is my favorite vampire! He has been since he first walked into Merlottes. I still have hope that the writers will get the story back to what it was in the beginning. I am so sick of this Bill, Bill, Bill. True Blood sucks. Sookie does not look like the lead character anymore. Are you serious? I think she may finally get over that. I am a Bill and Eric fan. But this season IMO was the Bill show and all the speculations about next season are revolving around Bill also…. Bill is the big cliffhanger so it seems only logic to have an article speculating about how he will be.
I dont mean the article, I mean everyone speculating… Like Jason for example, his was quite the cliffhanger also and I think his direction next year will be intense, kind of going back to season 2 in a sense.
He seems he may have lost his marbles and now has these additional personalities. Logic: This article was something AphroditeMF wanted to write about. We have had several articles about many of the characters, in the past, which you can comment on. Just use the search bar at the top right to find articles about those you want to read and comment about. Once I get it done, I will upload a review of Season five and you can comment on that, once I get it online. However Sookie uses up her powers and also becomes human. The cost?
I was devestated at the end of S5. The Bill I once loved exploded and arose a blood covered monster. I hope your insight is correct. I love SM and Bill and whatever happens I will still be there, watching. My thing is True blood never does what we think it will so who knows what will happen. Idk i could be wayyy of but i just think it. I've read quite a few books on SW over the years so this didn't provide anything new for me. Anakin sounded like a untrained dope n padme like a school girl who had to stay late.

In Valerian the Son is the most laid-back member of the Trinity of Hypsis, taking the form of a guitar-playing, weed-smoking hippie with stigmata.
He once healed the comic's Satan Expy who isn't really a bad guy either! Underground comic artist Frank Stack aka Foolbert Sturgeon did a few comic books with Jesus in the present day, quietly mostly observing humanity's less than stellar actions. In Spawn , God and Satan, though neither are particularly malevolent toward anyone but each other, are portrayed as essentially bratty teenagers on a cosmic scale. Jesus, on the other hand, is not God's son, but His mother , and the true Creator of the universe.
She the entity is technically genderless, but usually given feminine attributes incarnated herself on Earth in an attempt to make humanity better than her children.
As can be imagined given this goal, religious fundamentalism gets her down. Film [ edit hide ] Monty Python's Life of Brian is surprisingly non-scathing toward Jesus in a work that parodies His life and works; the Pythons rejected their initial concept of Brian as a forgotten disciple of Jesus because the laughs stopped dead whenever Jesus was around—none of them felt comfortable directly making jokes about Him.
He remains in one scene where people mishear the Sermon on the Mount which He is delivering straight , which basically epitomizes the real theme of the movie: the conflict between what Jesus said and what certain people thought and still think they heard. Although He never speaks and is only seen from behind or at a distance, Jesus appears as a background character in Ben-Hur. One memorable scene has Him giving a drink of water to the title character.
A Roman Centurion tries to stop Him, but Jesus just stares at him without a word and the Centurion backs down. In the original stage version, Jesus was played by a spotlight. Christopher Moore 's novel Lamb the Gospel According To Biff is based entirely around this trope, portraying "the lost years" of Jesus' life between the events of the Gospels. Among its more notable scenes, Jesus: learns kung fu from Shaolin monks , learns to become invisible by achieving Nirvana, to humorous effect with His friends and general consternation of the monks , becomes best friends with the last Yeti , and becomes a yoga master, which somehow lets Him create food out of thin air.
This is all played relatively straight, however Jesus in the book Robert Heinlein 's Job: A Comedy of Justice paints God as a jerkass though not evil , Satan as vaguely benevolent and both as mere peons before real deities, who run some sort of creation business. But Jesus and Saint Peter are both good guys. In the book Deadline the main character has frequent dreams in which he talks to a character named "Hey-Soos". Hey-Soos is basically a tanner white robe wearing version of the 18 year old main character, has a calm, laid-back demeanor and is very supportive of main character Ben Wolf. He also likes to make jokes about his reminiscence of Jesus Christ through various means, one of which being when he made his hands bleed during a dream talk he had with Ben to freak him out, then laughing about it. Attacked by CS Lewis , who pointed out that 'great humanistic teachers' do not go around telling people that there is no way to heaven except through them, and said that the only options for opinions on Jesus were 'Mad, Bad, or God'.
Of course, if you picked the 'God' option, then you would think he was cool. It suggests that the "great humanistic teacher" and the Shameless Self Promoter , who CS Lewis considered so incompatible, were separate characters, with " the Scoundrel Christ " corrupting and profiting from the acts of "the Good Man Jesus", and that they were conflated by contemporary chroniclers. An episode in the second season of True Blood has this as well, with Godric interrupting a execution scene by the corrupt church, explaining that even some vampires think Jesus was a nice Guy.
Music [ edit hide ] The Axis of Awesome has a song dedicated to this trope. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is awesome. Inverted in Beck's song Satan was Way Cool. The Trope Namer by King Missile. In an inversion of a typical Take That : "No wonder there's so many Christians". Look up virtually any Black Metal band if you want to see this trope averted. Radio [ edit hide ] In Old Harry's Game , Jesus only gets mentioned rather than appearing directly , but even Satan seems to have some grudging respect for him, with the worst he has to say being that he's a bit holier-than-thou.
This is a marked difference from his attitude to God Himself and non-fallen angels. Theatre [ edit hide ] In the Reefer Madness musical, Jesus is just about the only cool person present. Jesus, on the other hand, speaks out against marijuana as the lead singer in a heavenly night club, accompanied by a troupe of sexy, scantily clad angels.
Even in a musical that satirizes anti-marijuana Aesops , this can't help but come off as awesome. Jesus, AKA Joshua , is not exactly evil, but he knows full well he's divine in nature, and boy does he have a superiority complex.
But who was he before he became the right hand of the Sith? Although Rowling is obviously aware of the parallels between Jesus and Harry, it is difficult to claim that Harry is only a modern retelling of the story of Jesus Christ. Why the mask, the bat, and the underage partner? You can take a break for a while, the latest being after the defense of Xavax, before doing this. Balanced everything perfectly.
Then again, he saves the main character's life, and in the end he's convinced that maybe Shibuya doesn't need to be destroyed. And let's keep in mind that the above is only Fanon - Memetic Mutation , even. It would be a good deal more accurate to say that Joshua is God. Rule of Symbolism works better for that, too. I dunno
